If any of you have never listened to Vocaloids, you really should. I didn’t think I would like any of them at first, but—as always—Tumblr convinced me to give ‘em a try. At first when I heard a few songs, I thought, “Ick. They’re so computerized. This isn’t musical at all, how can one even listen to this?” But then, for some reason, I downloaded a bunch of Miku & Kagamine Twin songs onto my Frostwire and couldn’t get enough of it. I’ll admit, it is somewhat of an acquired taste. But once you get past the robotic sound of the voices (and if you’re not into the whole otaku culture, the Japanese language as well), you can start to really appreciate the songs. While some are bland, others are beautiful in the sense of lyric, music and emotion. Though I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone, I think at least one of you could really enjoy it. <3
By the way, the girl in this image is Hatsune Miku, the most popular and well-known Vocaloid.
